DeJuan Burns from Temple Hills, Maryland, who attended Hair Academy Cosmetology University in Lanham, Maryland specializes in natural-looking sewn-in weaves and healthy hair care. DeJuan does all hair types. She has been in the hair and nail business for over 30 years. She is licensed in DC, MD, VA, GA, AZ. She also taught as an instructor at the cosmetology school she once attended in 2010. Some of her work has been published in magazines such as Sophisticate's Black Hair, The Washington Informer, Her Magazine and also featured on Fox 5 News for the first person to turn an RV into a salon on wheels in the DMV.
DeJuan is a Celebrity Stylist and has done hair for the cast of Comedy Central, Choices the Show (series), The Big Mo Show, Maurice Brooks the Comedian, The movie "The Competition" produced by Charlie Grant and she appears in his new movie "The Life of a Gospel Singer also produced by Charlie Grant, Minerals Make up Company, George Clinton and family, the Illusion girls singing group , DC writer/publisher Adoria, Fox 5, Channel 4, WHUR - Steve Harvey Morning Show and a host of other locals and celebrities.
She has done hair for Fox 5 reporters and is the Celebrity Stylist for Venro Records owned by Royal Height, Oldies but Goodies Orioles Singer. DeJuan has also partnered with SAB MEDIA as Stylist for their tv network shows "Doing Good Business", Charlie Grants upcoming movies, Howard G Gaskins (Kiss my bumper guy), ITCTV - In the Community TV Media. DeJuan is also personal stylist for Songstress Nancy Hines, Dr. Gina Prince and Comedian Darryl Bradley aka Percy.
DeJuan has been interviewed by many social media outlets such as, LWDD- Living with Danielle and David host Danielle Spencer David, of What’s Happening, David L David and Alene Wilson-Harris, Comedian Chris Thomas of Rap City and Genuine the Artist Radio Show and others.
DeJuan feels it’s important to educate clients about taking care of their hair in between salon visits; healthy hair care should continue beyond the salon. DeJuan is the first black owned salon spa inside the Walmart brand and presently operates her salon AuSecours Salon Spa inside the CLINTON, MARYLAND Walmart store, and is also a traveling stylist for the stars. She will be opening her 2nd salon in the Waldorf, Maryland Walmart in the late Summer/Fall
She continues to enhance her skills through ongoing education, seminars, and one-one-one training sessions with top industry professionals. She absolutely loves her field of work--it's a great feeling for her to help women LOVE their hair, whether it grows from their own scalp or not.
She attends several events throughout the year to brand herself in more ways than one. DeJuan feels that women should be able to receive private services if needed when getting their hair done. She offers private appointments with very little to no waiting time, because DeJuan realizes that a clients’ time is precious. She does not overbook appointments.
DeJuan is also proficient in hair cutting - including layers, short bobs, proper relaxing techniques, coloring, making wigs for props, stage and more. DeJuan is also a nail technician, eyelash and eyebrow technician.
DeJuan has started her own hair line and accessories called D.A.B Collection Define Artful Beauty. She is now branding her hair products called DeGlam Virgin hair extensions and invention of the 30-minute weave and the DIY Glam Boxes. Celebrity Stylist Andrea DeJuan's hair product line "DeGlam Products" are in stores now such as Walmart and Amazon.
She gives some of her free time to do Free Services for the Veterans with hair loss and cancer.
She has also contracted with the Department of Health for the State of Maryland, Department of Veteran Affairs and Health Insurance to offer free wigs and items to those diagnosed with hair loss and cancer. DeJuan has started her Non-Profit organization called AuSecours Inc., which provides disadvantaged women, and children and those with domestics abuse guidance and entrepreneurship programs. DeJuan is also taping for her Reality Show and franchising her Mobile Salon on Wheels.
